Tasked with shooting for broadcast alongside stills, we brought in Director Franco Parente, DP Trevor Fife and photographer Quentin Bacon. This trio oversaw shooting for 8 days on the Celebrity ship EDGE. This ship was newly built and sent over from Saint Nazaire, France where we scouted it. We brought 10 models with us, by flying our team of 35 to the Bahamas to embark on the ship, and then we sailed to Fort Lauderdale to reside in port for a few days. Being the among the first to cruise on this ship was a real reward, along with the amount of incredible footage we captured.
On location in LA with Tom Bear photography, shooting stills and motion for Flexport - a freight forwarding company. Incredible location at the port with the most accommodating and wonderful support from port, as well as local LA crew.
Hugh Kretschmer / https://www.hughkretschmer.net/ and I produced and created a new print and social media campaign for Canon Printers. Shot in studio at warehousebrooklyn.com , we styled and animated high end, thoughtful concepts created by Grey and Townhouse.
On location with Noel Hendrickson, again with this repeat client in Milwaukee. Firing over 75 talent for a 4 day lifestyle shoot, multiple locations, homes, restaurants, offices - such a pleasure to shoot in this town. Great production support and casting was perfect for this job.
Johnson & Johnson
This 3 day instagram shoot with Rhea Anna was shot in Buffalo, NY. With a casting for 18 babies and parents, we shot extensively capturing real scenarios, real parents and babies. We also expanded our casting search by engaging Expecting Models in NYC and flew in a few moms and babies form their roster. With a need for a nod to LGBT and mixed race authenticity, our casting reached far and wide, and brought together people from many backgrounds. It was a hectic few days, with demanding logistics and tight time frames.
3 Destinations over 2 weeks, Charles Gullung and I traveled with our camera crew shooting stills and video, out maneuvering bad weather and challenging permitting situations. This shoot's locations were so incredible and so much fun. If anyone is ever in need of permitting, please use only the greatest locals - PJ at Grand Canyon and Paradise Locations in San Juan. These 2 local teams were incredible and helped create a super successful location shoot with us.
Tom Bear and SKS have worked on a few of these projects together. The first shoot took us to Miami, shooting 10 dogs and owners in various outdoor scenarios. This more recent shoot happened in NY with cats on location. If you have ever had to book more than one cat in a day on location, you know how delicate this process is and how finicky cats really are.
Chico de Deus Photographer led this creative project with such precision and passion. We collaborated for several months with NY agency SID LEE, almost daily, becoming a unified team with Dana Kandic, Felipe Ferraira and Makoto Aoiki Master Rigger and Fabricator from SWELL NY. Thanks also to my team Brie Walsh and Paola Ramirez who sourced the original props prior to cutting in half!
This 16 day shoot at NOHO Studios with Adrian Mueller captured the beautiful essence of splashes, waves and water interacting with perfect fruit slices and pieces. He and Takako/Food Stylist and Makoto/Master Rigger are experts, and watching the 3 of these teams collaborate is a true pleasure.
This 2 day shoot with Andreas Franke of Austria, brought us to a stage in Philadelphia, where we met up with Matthew Englebert, Wendy Oswald Kinney and our local Philadelphia crew. There we built a hospital hallway and waiting room scene, along with a variety of medical props. Our casting director found good talent for us in Philadelphia, helping to make this a fun shoot in Philly.
This 3 day shoot in NY/NJ/Jersey City with Chris Crisman and team took us to parks, homes, restaurants all over the tri state. Crisman understands the need to shoot a variety of formats and the need for intense design pieces that work into a layout. This library shoot was highly crafted in terms of body positions and backgrounds, while also needing to reflect a sense of reality and looseness. With a cast of roughly 30 talent and 8 animals, it was busy and carefully managed. We always make time for fun, too!
This was our first shoot with Jill Broussard in Miami for Frito-Lay. This three day extravaganza offered a variety of challenges, yet ended up being one of the most fun shoots last year. The first shoot day gave us sheets of rain all day long. Jill was so easy to problem solve with, and we ended up at a house location with a back porch area that became our studio setting, covered allowing us to shoot through the rain. The following 2 days cleared up and we shot with some of the most fun, diverse 20 something talent in Miami. We all had plenty of access to Pepsi products and Chips throughout this week, ending the shoot with margaritas and ceviche and a huge wrap at the Delano Hotel Pool bar. Very fun!
For US Cellular, Noel Hendrickson along with Mullen, took our team to Milwaukie for an extensive shoot with real people and real locations all being sourced locally in Milwaukie. Our casting team was incredible along with our crew from both Milwaukie and Chicago. We met a lot of great new people who supported us on this challenging yet very fun shoot in Wisconsin. We fell in love with the city and the surrounding parks where we shot over this week long job.
Andrew Federman brought us in to produce for Google Android last year. We ended up at the Haworth showroom for a long day, shooting a variety of office and business scenes with a great casting of young urban professionals.
To end the year, we collaborated with William Whitehurst to shoot 2 big studio projects at Pier 59.
Twice working with We are the Rhoads in Orlando, this time we found ourselves shooting at Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Working with the Disney team is always a very specialized process. We love collaborating with Yellow Shoes, and Chris and Sarah are two of the most amazing directors to partner with on any shoot.
Charles Gullung along with Juice Pharma directed this photo/video shoot for Xyntha on location in Clifton NJ and Bear Mountain in NY. This large crew moved along over 2 days, capturing a ton of footage, led by SKS freelance producer Brie Walsh. Also, Charles in the one kicking my butt in the ping pong video on the home page. You can tell he's loving it.
When Chris Crisman is directing shoots, we consistently find ourselves on location in various situations in NY, Miami and LA. Chris brings a serious approach to every shoot, delivering amazing pictures, often combining backgrounds with studio portraits. This shoot took us to Stone Street in NY, Prospect park in Brooklyn and to Long Island City.
SKS produced this in collaboration with SIDECAR, who acted as agent for Rachel Ferraro on this shoot. 3 concepts were created in studio at Fast Ashleys, with a fun female holding a pretentious cat, as the memorable take away from the day.
Jayne Wexler brought our team to Miami to shoot a day on location in Crandon park. We rented a GTO and Wilhelmina let us work with some of their young models, to help bring this day together. We also shot on location at Vagabond Hotel in North Miami and in Calle Ocho, creating a diverse 3 part look in one day.
Crisman brought our team to LA to partner shoot with a TV production happening at the same time. With this large production led by TV, we found ourselves learning to work more quickly than ever. We based ourselves in Huntington Beach. This shoot gave us our first intro to a makeup artist creating the perfect toe fungus.
